Since I've had my Edge Comp, I usually run around in 2/2... plenty of power, and all... . now that fuel is creeping to $5... . what setting have youse guys found to be the most economical as far as fuel mileage... . Since day one of owning my truck, I get 15-17 average driving..... up here in the Sierra foothills... there are few straightaways... . lots' of hills, stops, and turns... . TIA

I don't run a Comp but if you keep your foot light:rolleyes: & your boost at 10 psi or less you'll do fine with any setting. If you can't keep your foot light run 1x1.

I found that 1x5 works best for me. Spools up the turbo a little faster and for some odd reason it helps my milage.

YUP - 1x1 here for all but heavier loads and grades - 22+ MPG empty in mixed driving, 17+ towing at 14K GCW in same terrain at 60 MPH...

Gary, I asked this in another thread, Do you have a Slight Idea If I'd get better mileage if I ran a Muffler?

Dunno - some engine/vehicle setups are so closely engineered as to use characteristics of the exhaust system to enhance power - at least at some specific engine RPM, but no idea if Dodge/Cummins made even the slightest effort in that direction - or ANY of the aftermarket exhaust system providers, for that matter.

My particular setup uses both a straight-thru muffler, and ahead of that, a shorter straight-thru muffler for both drone elimination and overall noise reduction.

It sounds good to me, and along with the other stuff in my sig, delivers excellent power AND economy. I've no doubt that a total exhaust system COULD be developed for any specific truck, that would deliver best possible power, OR economy, within a specific RPM band - but all that may well not apply to another truck with different power add-ons...

Generally speaking, the LESS stuff cluttering up an exhaust system, the better the power and economy - but that's only a vast generalization... ;)

Sorry I can't provide a better reply...

Thanks Gary,

For some reason, I think it may get better with the Muff. just a single 51 inch Donaldson.

Im gonna try it when it gets Colder, I like to run straight in the Summertime and Muff'd in the Winter.
