hillarious rollover

I want to hook my computer up to my TV. My video card has the dual monitor outputs and a 'TV out' port that looks like S-Video, but I'm not sure. Is it that easy to just hook up? We don't have cable out here and I'm not paying for satallite, but we do have a WISP. We watch our favorite shows on the web now without commercials, but would rather see them on the bigger screen and from my lazy chair. I'd also like to tie the sound card in with the surround sound. I'm thinking, put my second computer out in the living room, which would need a new video card and sound card. Then tie into my network from there. Any other suggestions?

depending on your vid card, it can be that easy. . some that have the s-video looking plug actually have an adapter piece that goes in there that splits it to component somehow [there is more than the 4 pins for s-video in the plug]. my ati has the s-video looking plug, and i have an adapter that came with the pc to drop it to composite video as the s-video input on my tv is nfg. it only gives me black & white. . the croma doesn't work. i have my tv setup as the #2 monitor and my windows desktop is setup to extend into the 2nd monitor. it works well for me as videos will automatically go full screen on the 2nd monitor and be in a window on the main monitor which i can minimize and keep working on something else
