Crankcase Ventilation

I'm wondering if any one has installed "Fleetguard Crankcase Ventilation CV50117". Any feedback?

Yes I put one on my 01 though the one I put on at least at the time was called the Enviroguard from Cummins. While it was still an open crankcase vent it did a decent job of separating the oil from the vent by dumping the oil back into the oil pan via the secondary oil dipstick boss. It was pretty easy to put on. Certainly got rid of the oil drips on the driveway, and the mess on the underside of the engine

If you want a cheaper solution just extend your breather hose and mount your bottle down low next to the oil pan. It will keep your radiator clean. I empty mine at every oil change and rarely get any oil drips in the driveway.

I don't have a bottle.... It vents open and makes a mess of everything... I used to drive semi and my N14 Cummins did the same thing.

Get a small Nalgene bottle and drill a few holes in the upper part of it. Make sure it doesn’t get full of water or mud if you off road.

iirc snoking used to put sock over his bottle.
originally i just extended the hose back a few feet so it exited down lower back by the front of the transmission

I just extended my hose down, it fogs the front diff cover, but that is about it. I put the bottle on in the driveway when I remember to catch drips.

I put the same unit on my '99 and love it.

Interesting. I eliminated the catch bottle many years ago, extended the hose to just below the front axle. When I used to run Delo 400 it would leave a quarter sized spot now and then. I switched to Guardol ECT Ti and started using Hot Shot Secrets Stiction Eliminator and FR3 about 30k ago and don’t have a single drip with about 210K miles on the truck? Also picked up about .8-1.0 MPG, turbo spools faster and engine runs smoother. Like the Hot Shot Secret products so well that I now use it in my Wife’s 2011 Taurus with 100k and in my 2017 Mustang GT with Kendall Syn 520 in both. Also use their fuel additive in the truck. Spent 17 in petroleum sales and never recommended the use of any oil additives to any of my accounts. However, I now feel that Hot Shot Secret is worthwhile and will use it going forward and recommend.
