I just relocated my batteries to the truck bed. when I was removing the battery tray the vacuum line came off and a fair amount of oil came out. I know last winter when it was -40 degrees I would set the cruise it take off like someone floored the pedal. This summer I have had no problem, is this oil effecting my winter use of the cruise and where did it come from.

There is a check valve in the vacuum line where it comes off the vacuum pump that is suppose to stop the oil from getting in the the vacuum lines. It has failed or your truck may be an real early 97 build and didn't come with one. Either way you better get it fixed before you get oil in the vacuum system and have a real problem.
