Hi All, I have a 97 4x4 5sp with 115,000 miles. The proublem is when I set the cruse control at 60 mph, it will set but will slow down to about 56 mph. If i set it at 60 mph and it gose back to 56 mph and then hit the resume it will go up to 59 and hold for a while then slow back down to about 56-57 mph.

I have ck the vacum and under the batter, and cleaned the pcm connection and even tryed to reprogram the PCM. No luck yet, I sure could use some help here before i have to go to the dealer.

Thanks

thanks for you info. Is there a way to test the servo, or did you just try many diderent things before you found the fix

b84u,

Check the vac. between source and servo, should hold 10" mercury. Since the system is working but not staying at the correct set speed it is probably the servo/cable/vac problem. Go to this site to buy a manual www.techauthority.com

thanks, I have the factory shop manual, but did not know of the diagnostic manual. I guess I will just have to pull the intire servo, cable, and vac line outand see if it is broken, frayed, or leaking. I have tryed everything else from connection cleaing to ck. for holes and fryed cables while on the truck. Will let you know i find.

Thanks B84u

Didn't need to. The hole on the top side of the servo was big enough to stick my thunb in it, and the vac. hose was gone, with the fitting on the "supply" line was capped off. :-laf
