Folks,

I have a 98 12v 2wd auto with a bad rear end. Will a Dana 80 from a 2002 2500 CTD 4wd swap in?

Thanks,

Jim

Yes but... . you'll need the u-bolt brackets from the 80 and you'll probably need to have your driveline lengthened about an inch.

Hi Jim:

Yes, however you will need u-bolts plates for a Dana 80. Since you are going from disc on the front to disc on front & rear, you need to compare the two master cylinder. Also, you may need to shorten the drive shaft.

P. S. I am in the middle of replacing my Dana 70 in my 1997 with a Dana 80 from a 2001.

I'm in Athens GA. PM me about the 70 - condition, cost etc

If I get the 80, can I use the existing proportioning valve or would I need one from a disc/disc set up? What's the difference in the master cylinders from the disc/drum on the current 70 vs disc/disc of the 80?
