Competition Lake Cumberland Dragstrip

Competition Transmission for sled pulling

Has anyone tried one, or using one, or have any knowledge, or opinions about them? I see they have one for the Dana 60, 30 spline front axle. They are about half the cost of an ARB, and simpler to install, just looking for opinions I guess.

Thanks, Rob

Rob, IS the truck going to be strickly a puller or do you still street it? If you street it I would definetly look at the ARB, I have heard many good things about them and holding up. But if it is going to be mainly a puller, you always have the option to weld the front end. Thants what I ended up doing to my rig and since Im only in 4 wheel at the track, I dont have to worry about turning while in 4 wheel. But when it is out of 4w it drives fine and turns like normal. Just an option to go that saves some dough.

The only problem I can see with it would be. If it stay`s locked up when not in 4x4 the ring and pinion and everything up to and in the transfer case would spin at road speed. (lot of extra wear) If it didn`t stay locked up it would make a clicking sound at low speed and something worse at high speed and wear the left side of the locker out.
