Who's running the Silver 62 & hows it workin?

Have been researching Diagnostic Scan Tools with live data readout. Decided to go with the Equus Innova 3130. Was available here in Anchorage. Got it home, plugged it in and reading started pouring in, "almost all". Updated system via internet and same problem. APPS,MPH,RPM,MAP. No Read. Contacted Tech Support. TS says "It is common for diesel vehicles not to show as many PIDs in generic OBD2 versus a gasoline engine". Needless to say, the live data and capture data reading I would like cannot be read by the scanner. Looking at going with the Actron Scan Tool. Problem is I have to go mail order. Don't want the same problems. Looking at the Actron CP9180. Anyone have good, bad, indifferent experience with the Actron?

Thanks

I don't think you'll have any better luck with the Actron.
I tried an Actron 9145 and it would not work on my 2001.
I talked with both Innova and Actron. The problem is that their scanner products are designed for full ODBII complience.
Heavy duty pickups, above 8500GVW, such as our year model Dodge Diesels, are not required to be fully ODBII compliant and they are not fully ODBII compliant.

Even though the above mentioned scanners seem to cause problems most of the lower end code readers, from both Actron and Innove, that I have tried seem to read and reset the codes OK

Vehicles that are fully ODBII compliant will have a sticker under the hood that states that the vehicle is ODBII compliant.

My Actron works just fine on my '02 - haven't needed all the features, but it reads and erases codes just fine, and has lots of other neat features for the "experimenters"... :-laf
