I am glad I ran across this discussion. I just blew a rear wheel cylinder and am looking for a better option than the OEM cylinders. Does anyone happen to have a part # or GM model these cylinders are for? I need to get this immediately. I am a retired old man also a US Navy vet. So I need to try to do this repair myself. Thanks for any help you can give.

Napa part number 37337. Getting rid of the height sensing proportionin valve also made a bid difference, especially if you have airbags.

This is the up grade I done to my "95". I had already done the Chevy one ton, but wanted more, then run a cross further discussion on here for a larger cylinder. Went to auto zone and requested #33708 cylinder with a 1-3/16 cylinder. World of difference. Change your brake fluid when you do this up grade, if you have put it off. It needs to be done once a year.

I went after-market when I first changed mine out. This might be the difference in stopping power.

Update. Blackbirds sent an email reply so they're still in business.

Fix for the e-brake arm not having enough travel. Had to have caliper off the truck, move e-brake shaft to push out the piston "almost to the point where it would come out of the caliper" then turn the shaft back one notch (you'll feel a slight "skip") so the gear on the shaft would move back on the internal to the piston gear/device, then work the piston back into the caliper fully. Install pads, re-install caliper on axel, reinstall e-brake lever and check for movement/engagement of pads with rotor. Key setting = you want the pads to touch the rotor with only 1/4 - 3/8" movement of the lever "off" the stop. Once all back together and cables adjusted when you press the e-brake pedal it should start to get harder about 1/2-3/4 of the way to the floor. The e-brake won't work unless pedal is all the way to the floor. Tips: 1-before setting e-brake, place truck in "N" apply regular brake pedal and release 2-3 times, hold brake pedal and apply e-brake - all the way to the floor. 2-before releasing e-brake apply regular brakes "and then" release e-brake. I spoke with an old GM Tech who hated these calipers and he told me if you don't apply in this manner they will not hold "and" if you don't release in this manner they will not self adjust and eventually not work. Method to the madness = use them or they will not work...

Hello everyone,
Curious if there is any interest in {MONSTER 14" Front and Rear brake upgrade Front locking hub COMBO.} using HD floating axle "NON Unitized" rebuild able ABS compatible front manual lockout hubs. May offer " Full package (kits) for 2000-2002 Rams." These fit
SRW 2500/3500 (2000-2002) Dana 60 front axle (with removable caliper brackets required,) Rear Axle Dana 70/80 rear axle (must specify) retrofit for drum axles or direct fit for 2001/02 disc brake axles hubs. Several variations are available depending on "Rear Width" desired. Set up requires 17" or 18" factory wheels to clear brakes and stock lower control arms on front axle. Can put together complete kits. 4 wheel ABS Brakes are retained and functional. Would include sealed/shielded front hub mounted ABS sensor reluctor rings and factory style sensors (plug and play) STD- HD 35 spline front stub axles with mile marker lock out hubs and Monster oversize Truck Calipers used. No "retrofit caddy car junk".

If there is interest these will become available. I will monitor response's to see if enough interest is out there to bring these to market. I am doing this for several reasons... My original 01- 2nd gen brakes suck, changing unit bearings suck, full time locked axle hubs suck, and most aftermarket kits to do any part of this are too expensive for the average guy to obtain. I can also hook you up with the strongest CV joint offroad/racing aftermarket axles made from "RCV performance products(tm)". Please let me know your thoughts! I am going to make a decision on whether to finish final development of kit (s) for others to purchase or just supply locals here that I know. Best part I believe will be the price point. so much for so little money, Axles and brakes built the way they should have been right from the factory...perfect solution for the SNOW Plow operators, OFFROAD enthusiasts, or the heavy haulers that need better brakes... you are all covered. In my case, I am all three... Thanks, ultimateamc

I would be interested in improved brakes but I have a 3500 2WD dually.
