Just like the title says. .

Does a Hot Rod VP44 like some vendors push out flow a "SO" VP44 at WOT with mods like a 250hp injectors, drag comp, bigger tubes etc?

Anyone know?

In my truck, the HRVP has picked up about . 2 in the 1/4 mile, over the SO pump. I know that doesn't directly answer your question, because I do not know that it increased the flow, or actually even makes more hp. It could just be that it works better drag racing. :D

I will say that on the lower drag comp settings, it picks up more then at the upper ones. For example on 3x5 it went from 13. 4's on the SO pump to 12. 9's on the HRVP. On 5x5 it went from 12. 5's to 12. 3's. Lack of air could explain why it didn't pickup as much on 5x5. With more air, I think it would pickup the other . 3's. I'll know that soon enough.

Hope this helps...

Paul

A basic HRVP isn't really that much of an improvement over stock. However, there are now pumps on the market that will produce above and beyond what the previous 'hot' pumps produce.

PAULB- the lack of diff in times is more due to the amount of power it takes to propell these trucks down the quarter at 13 vs. 12 vs. 11 sec the faster u go the more it takes to get the same result. thats prob why dyno info is more usefull in this case. still good info though!

Really!?! :-laf

I have no dyno numbers to back it up, but my "butt meter" showed a noticeable increase going from my stock VP44 to a HRVP44, and it smokes more too. Again, no dyno #'s to prove, but probably around 50 hp???

My stock vp44 was a "HO" version not the "SO" and I was running Mach 4's at the time as well.
