The end of my dieseling days?

My trunk is down for the count. Getting onto I-81S this afternoon, it took its time shifting to OD. About the time it did shift, I felt a kind-of 'almost thump', and it stopped going. Nothing in any gear. Sounds like the input shaft went. 280K miles, and maybe 150K/7yrs with the ATS parts in it. I guess I can't complain, even with putting maybe all of 180HP to the ground. It shows that even moderate power can break stuff.

A proper repair will cost far more than I have, so the truck is going to sit until I can either afford to have the trans/TC/VB rebuilt or find a replacement. Going back to stock just doesn't seem very appealing.

To repair it right, the TC/VB probably should go back to ATS to be opened, cleaned and redone. And the trans should be thoroughly cleaned.

Sigh. It ran so nicely up to Fall Brawl and back. With the cetane boost, I may have even broken 20MPG; it only used ⅞ tank of fuel up and back--best it's ever done over 570 miles.
