I had a Bank's Stinger Plus on my '99 and had nothing but trouble. After I got a percentage of my money back from returning the Bank's kit, I test drove a Dr. Performance truck and was really impressed. The phase II that I tested was defenitely stronger than my Bank's equiped truck was.
I decided on a Phase III for my truck and have been extremely pleased with it. It performs as advertised. The only comparisons I have were my previous Bank's kit and a posted 4. 3 sec. 40 to 60 time posted by a member with the same truck setup with DD III's and a VA. My truck ran 40 to 60 in 4. 4 sec. in 10 degree weather. I don't know if the temp. hurt me or not. My truck also weighs 7640 pounds.
I am definitely not knocking anybody elses setup, as I have not tried anything else than whats listed above.
I do know that with my Dr. P kit, I gained 3mpg. My max EGT lowered from 1250 stock to 1150 with the kit. Unfortunately there is no smoke either. I have power everywhere across the tack and according to the G-Tech, I had 325 HP when I checked it in Dec. Also I had my dealer threaten my warranty because of the Banks turbo housing, and with the Dr. P kit they haven't said anything, yet. This could be because there isn't anything for them to see. And from my own experiece, I don't think Dr. P was all that you guys say. He was obviously very busy/impatient when I met him, yet he was very polite and knowledgeable. I would definately go the same route again.
To each is there own.
