First off, my truck has not been driven much intentionally, waiting for my General Contractors License, also I always had a company truck. VP down also it was 12 months without running but displayed the same symptoms before the 12 months. Drained fuel added fresh fuel, filter etc.
Truck starts great, poetry in motion, idles great@800, pulls out of tight parking area but brakes labor to hold it back in reverse and drive 750rpms, doesn’t cut out when placed in gear but seems off, falters a bit, maybePTSD, drives great and is manageable at stops until it really heats up.
Where it becomes more difficult to hold it back the longer I stop and black smoke begins billowing out, forces neutral shift, cuts out when popped back in gear.
Recently replaced or upgraded or installed:
lift pump, pressure gauge 12@idle, VP44, vacuum lines, alternator, truck threw Excess Turbo Pressure Code 0234, then installed Modified HX35, Banks Quick Turbo Turbine w/Bighead Wastedgate, Banks Power turbine Elbow, APPS sensor, MAP Sensor, Boost Fooler, Noise isolater, rerouted ground around alternator, cleaned all grounds
Victory laps keep coming to an abrupt bad acid trip end, seems temperature dependent, i thought a new wastegate would solve it, as turbo building at a stop seemed like the logical prognosis after symptoms and code. It did not, although when I apply brakes at a stop it now seems a bit different like it activates wastegate and finds a different controlled idle for it but still builds torque and blows black smoke and definitely cuts out when placed back in gear from a forced neutral shift. I noticed last test drive if I kept my foot on the brake as I shifted back to park to restart, the brake pedal would “pop” under my foot as I maintained pressure to the pedal and turned the key back on.
Purchased BlueDriver obd2 for live diagnostics:
I have an IAT sensor coming overnight from Detroit, I also have a cam sensor and engine coolant temp sensor on hold for Monday
OBD 2 arrived
LIVE IAT reading steady from 80-90 as it warmed up and I revved it a few times
ETC seems fine
Does not support cam sensor or transmission live data.
TC? Brake sensor? seems tied to brakes and or transmission
