Competition EGT while racing

Competition O-ring or Studs

I agree with Piers, CUMINNTSTRKN, and others..... there seems to be way to much whining going on.

This should be like a boxing match where Mills Lane is the referee..... "Let's get it on!!"

No moaning or whining allowed.

There are WAY too many variables to enable one person (or even a "tunnel-visioned" group of people... ) to say that one truck makes more power simply because it pulls the furthest... . or makes the quickest pass in the ¼-mile - Traction, drivetrain losses, rolling resistance, weight, driver errors, wind resistance, etc... ... just to name a few.

Let's have fun, help to further our hobby, and enjoy ourselves... . and if some of you insist on making a big deal about the #'s that you or your favorite/least favorite vendor sponsored truck comes up with... . do it tastefully and try not to personally attack anyone publicly... . this gets old really quick.

Matt - stepping off soapbox.....

i think there was a misunderstanding between tcs and dtt. i do not have any dtt parts in my transmission. this really isn't the right thread for this.

Beer fight!! Beer fight!! OK lets see if we can turn this up a notch, into some real fun.

My vote goes for some of the home brews I have had over time. Next is the many micro brews here in the PNW. And last, is that mass produced goat pee all you mid westerners drink:p

From my days in the PNW I always drank that stout stuff called Red Hook. Man it nearly killed me some mornings:) ]

I never got a chance to read Stefans post, what did I miss?

Less see here. .

Mitchell's 24 valves inj, do not make much power, and DD "builds" 'new '24 valve inj for Jim!!! Very suspicous!!

Hey Jim!

You should see what a Mitchell cam does with Mitchell twins!!:D

I kept my trap shut over the injector issue this past week.

The HP difference with the DD injectors over the Mitchell's was appalling:(

DD can put together the best injector in the business right now. I have seen this happen a few other times as well.

Like a tried to tell Andrew this weekend... smoke is not always power. Knowing the cylinder size and the injectors time to get the fuel in will tell you mountains on which way to go with injector size.

Just another clue that the HP is kinda low in the Mid-West:D

Oh Gene, the DD cam is making the boost come on faster and lowering EGT. No flycuts for massive lift needed. The waiting for the turbos to get spooled up is much less. Unlike your rig that is boggy until about 2500 rpm Jim's is cranking out max HP already.

This goes back to my points about fuel time curve being too short at anything over 3000rpm to do jack crap.

I was talking on the phone the other night wondering how you guys flycut the piston and we came to the conclusion yall must be using a wood router:rolleyes: :D :D :D :D

Well, DD has "learned" from the best, I'm sure. ;)

Yea, I do have lag, it takes until about 1900 to stop the tires from spinning, then it goes, and goes, and goesand goesand goesand goes.

She wakes up at 1500, starts pulling at 1900, comes alive at 2400, kills anything on the street at 3000, and keeps you planted in the seat right to 4200.

No flat spots, no drop offs, just PULL.

If that is lag, then man, I have lag, and would not trade it for anything!

60# of boost in first gear spinning in mud is laggy, eh?

Too bad I could not afford the good small turbo, injectors, fuel pump. :(

Man alive,DonM is a busy guy!

Being a Joe Donnelly wanna-be,a DD salesman, a truck pulling consultant(who's never even seen a truck pull!),[Keep the personal insults out of it please - Edited!],and now an injector EXPERT!

Good golly Don,where do you find the time??

What's next?? You should apply at NASA!

Chadwick,

Its does not take an expert to read a dyno sheet and see the hp curves made with the products from the MidWest.

Not only was it entertaining it was down right funny:D

The bill will come due for the Mitchell defense fund . And it's a whopper with bacon and cheese. You guys are gonna need a crash course in survival techniques on explaining the losses on the sled pulling track, dyno, and drag strip. Yep, its almost time for all the stooges who thought the best defense was mean spirited offense to pay the Burger King. Tsk, tsk, tsk!

All while the members will log on nightly for the latest round of pulls, drag races, and dyno runs to see the whoopin' (your word not mine) the West puts on the others. Phone lines will burn with data as the results come in and we all guess who will "flip" to DD for their vendor next.

Its time for a cleansing of sorts... a reconciliation!!

I see Mohney and company with furrowed brow- elbows on the table - stroking their chins and exchanging transparent nods on just exactly what kind of damage control will be necessary to sate the appetites of the nightly throngs.

"Had only we KNOWN, we NEVER would have..... " "Dang that Don WAS right" "Man anyone wanna buy a set of twins?"

You can bet the bowels of the shop in Ohio are churning away trying to figure out where the HP is right now.

Who needs Survivor? Pull up a seat, and clear your evening calendars. Savor it boys and girls. This is a dish best served cold.

Don~

Oh, NASA... thats a place that employs a few of my friends and many of my family. I decided it was too far South for me and went to work for the Department of Energy. . No, not the same guys who came and turned your power off for non-payment:p

Don, how do you come up with this stuff? You're killing me.

Hammer, I may take you up on your offer. I plan on taking the day off if I can and leave early in the morning. I'll let you know when I know for sure.

Don,

You told me this? I think you have me confused with someone else.

I know that smoke does not ALWAYS = power, nothing new.

Andrew-still keeping his mouth shut :D

Don,

Please post these dyno sheets that you and Dr. Joe believe to be Mitchells.

NASA?

That explains a lot.

NASA is talking to Bob Riley right now about coming in and helping out some Texans they hired that are having trouble changing the toilet paper in the restrooms.  :p

No I meant the dyno sheets between Jims truck with the Mitchell injectors vs the DD injectors. Even you would have had a change in faith.

Bob Riley and NASA... yeah right!!

gene i'm interested in max hp. i had mitchells injectors in when i went to dd. i dyno'd then they put the cam in, and the pump on. i then dyno'd again with the mitchell's to see the difference. then lawerence and lewis pulled out the mitchell injectors and handed them to me. i pop tested mitchell's and bullydog's just to see if they had blown the seats out of the nozzel's. the mitchell injectors popped good, the bullydogs didn't.

then we started to try different injectors that they were making on the spot. we would try and set and then they would go into there secret room and come back a hour later with a bigger set. after a day of testing we found the perfect injector for my application. they had nothing to do with mitchell's injectors. mitchell's made 40 less rwhp than the ones i have. this is fact, we were changing injectors on the dyno. this is not a dig by any means at the mitchell's. but we were able to build my injectors in house, and test them on a dyno at dd. it took us a long day to find the perfect injector for me. there are not many shops that have that option.

gene i'm sure the mitchell cam is great, but i have not tested the mitchell cam. all i know is his twins and dd's cam is unbelievable. i will see everyone in muncie!!

Mr. Fuller,

1, maybe 2, or 3 quick questions, :D

1)if you are intrested in max hp, then what is the perfect injector for your application, the ones that flow the most?

If it is NOT the ones that flow the most proceed to post, if not, on to question 2 :D

2) So you say they would go into their little room, and comeback an hour later huh? Were they trying to get them bigger then Mitchells... i. e. more horsepower?(serious question, not a jab at the vendors)

3) which injectors did you have in at May Maddness, BD or Mitchells?

Andrew
