Hello all. I have just a basic question that may seem dumb,but let me explain I have a 97 dually and my fuel gauge has not worked in years. I normally drive by the trip,getting fuel around 325 miles and putting in 18 or so gallons. Sometimes more,or less depending on how i used it that week. Did dodge offer a standard size tank for my 97 dually or was there different ones ??(no owners manual) The reason is fuel here in NH is 3. 25 to 3. 45 a gallon and its killing me to the point i'm driving the wife's looser cruiser to work. . :rolleyes:

it gets 24 mpg. I want to try and fuel up when empty and at a cheaper station. If it goes down to 3. 15 i'll use it more again. anyone from southern NH out there reading this know where the best price is? Whats my tank size? I don't want to run out:{

p. s. i get 18-21 depending how i drive,this is good for my dually right?:)

I would say that is fair mileage, I have got 23 not pulling anything and loafing along. My 97 owners manual says it holds 35 gal of fuel. Most all must be useable, I have stupidly ran it so empty I put in 34. 5 gallons! I feel much better with the fuel sender replaced, very accurate readings now.

Thanks don,thats helpfull and means i can go 2 weeks instead of 1 on a tank. I want to do the sender, (for 3 years now) but last time i priced one it was 400. 00 or something crazy like that.

More like about $45 for the sender from the dealer. You don't have to replace the entire module on these trucks. Oh, and some of us have a 54 gallon tank from Transfer Flow. Love the extra range.
