Howdy folks, it has been ages since I have frequented this site. Last Friday I had 2 Bridestone Dueler A/T Revo 2's installed on the rear of my truck, size LT265/75/16 Load range E, on stock rims. Since these tires are expensive and money is tight I could only afford 2 right now. My old set of the original Revo's had over 70k on them and, needless to say, were almost bald.

I have had 2 sets of the original Revo's and the only thing I didn't like about them was the price, but have had excellent results, which is why I decided against many other tires and to stomach the high cost and buy yet a 3rd set.

However, I didn't notice it on the way home from the tire shop, but today on a longer journey to my in-laws house I noticed the rear end being 'loose', and ready to step out like you were driving on ice, but the pavement was dry. There was one point where I hit a sizeable pot hole in the highway and it shot me completely into the oncoming lane, I had to wrestle the wheel quite a bit to regain control of the truck and almost had to empty my drawers after that. Luckily there wasn't much oncoming traffic or it could have been disasterous.

Also I notice quite a bit of a droning sound at highway speeds. I never encountered any of this with the orginal Revo's.

I'm just wondering if others have had the same results, I'm starting to think when they redesgined the tire they made it worse instead of better.

For the price I paid for these tires and the positive results I have had in the past, I am very disappointed.

I found a couple of threads that discussed the original Revo but not the Revo 2.

If others can confirm my experience with similar results I will call the tire shop Monday morning and see if they will let me trade them in on something else. Problem is about the only other tire they had to choose from was a Hankook Dyna Pro. I know nothing about the Hankook's so I decided to stay with what I thought I knew was good.

Please respond with your experiences with these tires and your advice as to what I should do. Thanks

I like my Revo 2's! Never had a problem but I only run 40psi in the back when unloaded. The tires are so stiff that only 40psi in them maintains the correct buldge in the sidewall. Weigh your truck and refer to the tire pressure chart. Even with my Toyhauler loaded, the chart says 75 and the max is 80. Put some weight on them or lower your unloaded tire psi and you'll be happy.

I will try lowering the pressure. I used to only run about 50 psi in the rears with good results. When I got home from the tire shop I checked and they had them at 65, and the tread almost seems to bulge outward. I will lower them and see if that helps. I was just freaking out, I thought maybe the redesgin was junk, but couldn't seem to find info on the web to justify my suspisions. I'll report back in a couple of days. Thanks Eric

98. 5, 5-spd, Reg cab, 320k, 4" turbo back exhaust, lift pump pressure gauge, Van AAken box, Bosch RV275's, Amsoil air filter in stock box, original VP44.

I said I would report back in a couple days, so here it is. I lowered the air pressure on the rear tires to 50psi, which is where I used to run my original Revo's, unless loaded then I bumped them up a bit. The tire shop had them at 65, so I had to let quite a bit of air out. And I can now report that the droning at highway speeds is much better, however the 'loose' feeling is only marginally improved. Sometimes, for no particular reason it will feel like the rear end is coming around, and my natural reaction is to countersteer and tighten my cheeks.

Today when I walked out from the job to go home I noticed that the tires had picked up a lot of sand off of the concrete in the parking lot, (left over from winter here) and I noticed how the sand covered the tread and that the outside edge of the tires is not touching the pavement, and indeed the tread seems to bulge out in the center. So when I got home I lowered them down to 40 psi. Maybe that will do it. Thanks Eric

Mine felt loose for a while... tread squirm. It doesn't matter load or pressure, they just squirm a bit. You may have a worse "feeling" because you only replaced one set... stiff tires on the front $ay be amplifying the feeling.

I have about 35k on mine, and expect that much more. They are a very good snow and sand tire... I will buy another set. In fact, if the right job comes on tap this summer; there may be a set of 315s ordered for a trip to Alaska.

If you can find them in a 315 size. My local dealer has been looking for me for over three months. They are on national back order and I need 4 of them now.

I picked up a set from the local Firestone dealer last month took him a week to get them in. If there is a Mavis tire shop by you they also had them in stock, the 315's that is. So far very happy with them much better than the ProComp's I had tried. [/B

No issues with mine.

The only thing I noticed was that they had a higher rolling resistance than the factory BFG's. I'm running 265/70-17, so don't know if that makes a difference.

Maybe they didn't do a good job balancing them ?? If they have a bunch of balancing weights on them, ask them to remount and rotate the tires on the rim so that the weights are minimal.
