Eric I just reread your post as I have just ordered both Dynatrac BJ's and hubs. I will do the 08 steering update at the same time. Then I will be officially broke. :-laf No I went broke when I did the engine clutch and trans, and I still have to do the heater doors. Oh well it's good incentive to sell some of my no longer need parts. Shadrach

Did you ever post what kind of miles per gallon increase you got?? I never found it in the thread?<!-- google_ad_section_end --> <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

No, in fact I never saw a MPG increase at all. I'm sure it didn't hurt, but I can't tell that it helped either?

I've had a free-spin kit since 2006 or so and I don't think my mileage increased either. If it did, it was so minute that I just haven't paid attention.

16 hand calculated is normal, 18 the best I've ever gotten.

I noticed a 1mpg increase if I am on cruise at a consistent 65mph with no head winds or stop and go. I think keeping the RPM below 2 grnd helps

Eric - Just wanted to thank you for the thread. I just completed ball joints/bearings last week and your thread gave me the confidence to tackle it.

Great!!! Glad it was a help! If it saved you the labor cost, that made it worth the effort on both of our parts!

Absolutely... plus I got to buy some new tools, the perk of doing it yourself. I will say this though. Next time I might just pull the axles and take them to someone with a press to swap out. Probably would have saved a good deal of time. :)

Just did this again. Put dynatrac joints in so hoping it's the last time. I might get a new truck by the time I need them again.
