I thought the CTS3 was a good value with the turbo timer feature built in, thats the main reason I bought it. It replaced my old Edge Attitude with Juice that had totally failed, it was an old model.

Well, the CTS3 has never worked right for long. Software updates have been no help, turbo timer has never worked right using the timer or the EGT reading. I'm calling Edge again, but they have a product that just doesn't work like they claim. The page loads improved with one update, but the last one didn't improve anything I can tell. Still a laggy mess on boot up.

I see lots of the same on other Cummins forums, same old same old BS. I don't drive the truck much these days and I just realized the EAS EGT PID is not working with the turbo timer AGAIN for like the 20th time. I don't think I want to see another Edge product in my trucks ever again. The screen freezes are annoying, they say its the big fuel pumps and other high draw accessories causing the issue, but my voltage averages a steady 14.5 volts. There is no surging I can see.

I wish I had done more research, I should have gone with another BD turbo timer I guess and the regular gauges. It works okay for just a monitor, that freezes occasionally but I would not buy any accessories for it beyond EGT. Its too full of glitches even after years of updates! I imagine its much worse on the new trucks, but maybe not. I don't think its worth the cost for my 2003 anymore. I never adjust the tune on the fly anyway, so some regular gauges would have been fine in hindsight.

While I've seen more than a few reviews like this on the Evolution CTS3, I've had just the opposite experience. I've only been running it since January, but I've had no issues. I ran an old Edge Insight CS for years, then traded up this year, and everything has worked as advertised.

Gauges load fast, EAS EGT PID works as does the turbo timer. No screen freezes, works every time. I use it for a data logging with no issues. I updated the software before I installed it, and then again a couple weeks ago. Before the last update, screen swiping pretty much sucked, but it was usable. Now it's much better.

That said, the WiFi "capability" really doesn't exist for updates, and the promised WiFi data logging is probably a crack pipe dream. I would also probably give it a D+ for "custom" tunes. I just wanted to add a couple degrees timing to the stock tune, but every Edge timing-only tune has been a total dog. I'm going to switch over to the Edge tow tune tonight and see if that's any better. I've read some good things.

So, SSage, I'm not saying you're wrong - I've read plenty of the same trying to find the right tune for my rig. Hope you have better luck in the future!

i dropped Edge a few years ago. i had 3 cts2 and one cts3 take a crap on me. i'll never go back to edge, every sense the epa took them down they have been producing junk IMO.
i now run a mm3 in my early04 and it's been great!!! had one issue where it needed a new micro usb cable, and one time where i jumoped my truck the SD card was corrupted. all easy fixes.

edge is junk. their tunes run HOT. just not a good thing to have in today's world. IMO.

Mine still doesn't work right, in fact my previous Edge products didn't live long either. I don't recommend the purchase. The EGT shows an error message, but it displays EGT. The turbo timer and the turbo temp shut down features do not work still. It crashes too, I'm tired of it resetting. I didn't bother customizing it much last time, it looses the settings when I update the software. I expected it to work as advertised at least, it didn't last two years.

The temperature based shut down failed almost immediately, software update only fixed it briefly. It may be due to the Air Dog pump I run, I've read online it causes an issue somehow with voltage Customer service tried to help, but the thing never worked correctly for long. I got sick of messing with it, it works somewhat okay as a basic gauge set. I do miss having an EGT based turbo timer, I liked that feature when towing while it briefly worked a few months off and on. I thought I would like the Smarty power feature, but I never change the power level anyway. Might be helpful on icy roads though. I've been staying in the SE and haven't needed to reduce power, but I could see it being useful in some situations.

My edge keeps dropping high fuel log pressure code . I contacted Edge , my answer , sorry . We will give you money off a new EDGE ($100.00 ) . No thank you , you know there is a known issue , it should be free replacement .
