I thought the CTS3 was a good value with the turbo timer feature built in, thats the main reason I bought it. It replaced my old Edge Attitude with Juice that had totally failed, it was an old model.
Well, the CTS3 has never worked right for long. Software updates have been no help, turbo timer has never worked right using the timer or the EGT reading. I'm calling Edge again, but they have a product that just doesn't work like they claim. The page loads improved with one update, but the last one didn't improve anything I can tell. Still a laggy mess on boot up.
I see lots of the same on other Cummins forums, same old same old BS. I don't drive the truck much these days and I just realized the EAS EGT PID is not working with the turbo timer AGAIN for like the 20th time. I don't think I want to see another Edge product in my trucks ever again. The screen freezes are annoying, they say its the big fuel pumps and other high draw accessories causing the issue, but my voltage averages a steady 14.5 volts. There is no surging I can see.
I wish I had done more research, I should have gone with another BD turbo timer I guess and the regular gauges. It works okay for just a monitor, that freezes occasionally but I would not buy any accessories for it beyond EGT. Its too full of glitches even after years of updates! I imagine its much worse on the new trucks, but maybe not. I don't think its worth the cost for my 2003 anymore. I never adjust the tune on the fly anyway, so some regular gauges would have been fine in hindsight.
