Getting ready look into getting a chip. I like the Edge Juice w/att. I like the adjust on the fly, turbo timer. Also I have seen alot talk about the smarty. But I have noticed that the price on the edge has seem to have skyrocketed.

So I figured I had better ask the guys here with the most experience with these to get an opinion on which you think is better or is there something else out there better. Thanks for the Help!!

The Smarty offers things that are not offered by others.

Namely the fueling just off of idle. And adjustability to fine tune your truck. It also offers speedometer corrections if you change tire sizes.

I think it really helped driveability.

think about the future of the truck will it see competition or towing or sunday drives? u already have guages... be realistic and honest w/yourself and ur budget. smarty does not tap pump fxes catchers wont over boost turbo but gives boost fooling to help max it. then u can add fueling or injectors later. at this level a clutch is needed, exhuast should be soon,if u plan an e-brake consider now. bombs cost alot more if u do them twice!!

Well I have no real desire for competition. I have a 4" exhaust on the way. e-brake on order. I plan on injectors soon, and also a mild turbo upgrade. My friend has a edge juice, and I liked how it performed. But I have read that alot of people seem to have the smarty. So basically your right, I want to be happy with it the first time around. I am just looking for imput regarding them both, from the experence of the other owners here.

The Juice will also adjust for tire size. The Smarty from what I understand adds little or no power, just lowers the fueling so the power comes on sooner. I have the Juice now and love it, and I will probably get a Smarty to stack with it down the road. If you did not have gauges I would say Juice first, but it is a tougher call since you do have them. You have to weigh the other features and decide which is more important to you. I would still lean toward the Juice first because of the extras that come with it, but still do both.

Stacking Smarty

I just started selling Smarty and have to admit to not being an expert on them. I will put one on my truck so I can give some feedback. My question is: Can you stack a Smarty with a Juice? I have a friend who has a Smarty stacked with an EZ and the combination is unbelievable but I overheard some guys talking at BD's dyno day saying that Smarty and Juice might not "play well together". Anyone know for sure? Farmboy's?

Smarty stacks well with the Juice/Attitude on even settings - non-timing settings. However, the Smarty will not stack well if you have the 'HOT' version of the Juice/Attitude. Hope that helps.

The Smarty adds fuel to the tune of about 65 HP, about the same as an Edge EZ. The difference between Smarty and everyone else is, it adds the power down in the lower rpm, lower throttle position, where you drive most of the time. It's 65 HP that you feel all the time, not just when you hammer it. If you want more horsepower, you have to tap the VP44 to add even more fuel. The Edge Juice, Comp, or TST PM3 will all make considerably more power than the Smarty, a little more than your stock clutch and turbo can deal with effectively, so it's hard to get full benefit of all the available power until you upgrade those components too.

The preferred stack, based on testing done at TST and the premier Smarty vendor, is the TST PM3 with Smarty. The TST doesn't add timing as aggressively as the Edge products do, so you can use all the Smarty levels.

There is more to consider than just horsepower if competition is not your game. Features and packaging are important in the day to day use of a product. Edge and TST make similar power, so it really comes down to the other factors
