I just hooked up the 275 injectors, Adjusted the ez edge box for the medium injectors. I have 4" straight exhaust. I also have a jake brake.

I installed an autometer pyro and boost gauges. the pyro is in manifold.

After installing the injectors I gained noticable hp.

But i also gained some EGT'S.

If i'm not mistaken alluminum melts around 1200 deg.

With out even a load and hauling a$$ up an easy grade I was making around 34#'s of boost and getting up to 1050 0r 1100 degrees and going about a hundred miles an hour. Seems pretty hot for a truck thats not hauling any weight. or is it the mods and the fueling is just burning hotter?

Is this normal or just watch the gauges and dont let the motor get that hot.

Thanks jim c

The first thing I did to my truck was gauges, I have my pyro in the manifold too and it was to my surprise that while empty and on a 7% grade that I could go WOT and get to about 1320*, I understand that 1300* pre turbo is OK all day long . Now the surprising part, I added an Edge EZ and my temps dropped to 1250* under the same circumstances but when I added the 275's I went right back to where I started but thats ok because I had alot more power, more fuel is higher EGT's.

As far as bombing to help your EGT's there are a few tricks to do

#1 get more air into the motor by changing to a higher cfm airflow type filter.

#2 open up the exhaust or go bigger.

#4 A larger cm exhaust housing, 12cm to 14cm makes a good difference, understand where you want to be with your final HP and torque first as you may want a bigger turbo alltogether.

cheers and bomb on, Kevin

The pistons in your truck are a forged aluminum alloy, which melts at a higher temperature.

Piston temps differ alot from EG temps, but they do follow the egts somewhat, 1300 is ok (would I run it all day long, no).

The after market filter is next. Or I heard drilling holes in the top of the stock filter housing to allow air to come in from the top works.

I have a k n n filter and 4" sraight exhaust.

I'll just have to be carefull. Also my clutch is already starting to slip. I have been driving it pretty hard to get a feel for the new power and my clutch would slip now and then.

I would drill the holes in the bottom of the factory air cleaner if you want it to be filtered air. The top is after the filter.
