My fuel gauge started showing empty and the "low fuel" warning light would come on intermittently even though I knew it wasn't low. Now the the light is on all of the time and the gauge shows empty. Defective sender?

The next problem concerns my electric brake controller. I haven't had to tow anything for a couple of years, but had to bring a bobcat home to remove a slab under the carport. I had broken the old trailer connection and installed a new. but the Blue wire out of the controller had power all of the time. There were slight variation in voltage when the peddle was depressed or the controller activator was manually engaged. Defective brake controller? I should point out that the electric brakes on the trailer didn't work either. I would have thought they would be locked up, but nada.

Thanks in advance.

Make sure your brake controller is levelled. There are usually 2 adjustments on an inertia type controller, one is your gain and the other which is usally a knob similar looking to the gain actually levels the pendulum. If you look closely there should be levelling marks to line the adjustment up with, if that adjustment is off your controller will not function properly. A good indication of the level being out of adjustment is if your trailer brakes will work with the manual slider but they dont work with the brake pedal.

On the fuel gauge, sounds like your sender. May have to poke your head up for a peek or possibly drop the tank or lift the bed.
