Good News!!

In Geno's catalog is listed an eliminator pipe that goes between the air cleaner and the turbo inlet. Assuming all else is stock, what sort of turbo noise increase can I expect? The more the merrier,I just love that sound.

I purchased one and installed it, but I also have an open element AFE proguard 7. The increase in intake noise was quite noticable, when I removed the silencer ring from the inlet side of the turbo :D that really made my day. I like the sound also.

That's what I have in mine. Put it in about 3 years ago. It is definitely louder outside (than stock) although not too bad as I've never had anyone complain about it. Not really noticable inside though unless I am towing next to a cement divider or something like that. You can definitely hear the turbo whistle after this mod. Have you removed your silencer ring? You'll hear the turbo more if you take that out as well. A BHAF will also increase your turbo noise output and is easy to do.

I have the AFE torque tube going thru the stock air box w/ a stock replacement AFE filter. I have removed the silencer ring. The turbo sings now, but not horribly. When it's making a lot of boost you'll hear it, at cruise making 7-10psi of boost its there if you listen, but no one has gotten in my truck and said "what's that whistling?"

I've had that with mine :D

I drilled the bottom of my airbox, removed the duct work that draws the air from the fender and removed my silencer ring. It can actually get annoying after a while... .
