Just got my heater cord for my 14' Ram from Geno's. I understand how to put it on the block but was wondering where you routed the cord to keep it safe and away from heat.

Thanks

The oem cable comes push-in retainers and a routing guide,It should go to the frame rail forward to the opening in the front bumper

Not sure on the 2014.I have a 2016,with factory installation.I think the CIA INSTALLED IT.I have looked and can't find it.

I can't find the OEM installed on my 2016+ 2500 Laramie. I had the truck in for service, and forgot to ask where the cord is. I had a friend that is skinnier than a rail, crawl under and look for it and he could not find it. I was told by a dealer that it is supposed to be just above the passenger side tow hook.

I am going to install a couple of items in the engine compartment I will have the mechanic look for. I know I don't need the Engine Heater Cord right now, when the outside temperature is 81 deg. at 0105 hrs, in the morning. but it sure would be nice to know where it's at before we are in 20 deg. weather in the Easter Sierra's.

I didn't mean to High Jack your thread.

On my 2016 it was a PIA to find. I removed it when I installed the Genos block plug

I figured it would be a lot easier in the winter to plug it up if I didn't have to get down on the drive in the mush and chip ice off it. I did remove the OEM one, it came off the engine and went down and then along the frame rail towards the bumper area.

That looks like where I found what appears to be a plug. Only problem is that I have a 28" Light bar between the OEM Tow Hooks. I would not be able to mount the "Geno's block plug" where you have it mounted. No just to figure out how to get so it can be used.

Then up the frame rail to the right tow hook opening. Toughest part is getting it fastened around the radiator hose so its still accessible but out of sight. I have the double radiator so that may be easier for you.

I have this one also. The plug kept coming off the block heater until I put a steel/zinc hose clamp on it. The plastic one that comes with it is not adequate
