This is really super long and drawn out, but here is an account from someone in the park.

Tom,
Thanks for posting.... very enlightening. This also reflects my previous response to the OP posting ALEDGED activity AND following rules.

The reason I come back on this is I lived in an RV park for three years in the DC area and three years in an RV park in Del Rio TX. Like in your post, one of the things I detest MOST then and now is UNRULY and UNCONTROLLED kids. Seems it's pretty common for parents to just turn their kids loose in the park to ENTERTAIN themselves anyway they see fit.

BTW, now Vivian and I plan long trips across America making reservations in advance AND we always READ the rules for each campground. But hearing "The Rest Of The Story" as Paul Harvey so eloquently stated. I would stay at this park and as always, be a good camper.

Finally, cant wait for COVID to get under control so we can hit the trail again, especially after being down almost all 2019 due to surgery.

Happy Trails, Ron

I read the campground reply. I knew there was more to the story than in the first video. The campground owns the property, they make the rules.

I have stayed at a ton of CG's. Sometimes I don't like the rules so I leave. Pretty simple.

Guys, that what radio talk shows do talk to extreme... I have friends who listen to ranting for hours and love it. And all the ranting TV news networks... whoops, got to be careful not to fall into being a rantor.

The condensed version the camper and mostly camper friend were unnecessarily vulgar and ugly... had very bad kids running amick, and arragant complainer got his pkg outside the park gate, and instead of quietly going on, decided to gloat with it to the owner.

Reason for rule no deliveries is apparently CO has a domicile rule if you receive mail, it is you residency and residency rules apply for eviction process versus simple order to leave campground.

After hearing most of It and FF a lot, I tend to lean towards the campground. BTW, you can FF by touching horizontal ribbon and moving to right or left... very clever those IT guys.

Anyhoo, I did Google search and found many sites with link to these complaining campers and only one with a link to the campground story, and not much else. These campers KNOW how to spread their video like wildfire.

Bottom line for me... I have no worries and am a HAPPY CAMPER

Happy Trails, Ron

It is interesting to note the accuser commented on this video inviting RV Show to interview him and air both sides, and while RV show has responded to several other comments they have yet to respond to that particular one. Maybe something is in the works.

This is turning out to be a real life RV style Jerry Springer show! :D:D

Alan Warren, who runs the RV Show USA, is also a campground owner, running Big Chief RV Resort on Lake Buchanan in Burnet, TX.

No receiving packages would keep me from staying there unless they would make an exception for medicine. So it doesn't matter to me who did what, life doesn't come to a standstill.

I though it was common knowledge to
1. Get your kids all jacked up and either turn them over to the grandparents.

Or

2. Get them all jacked up and go camping and turn them loose on the neighbors.

My original opinion was 50/50, but yeah the more they drag this out the more it appears to be a more views = more $ to the ad generators. This can easily be accomplished to go pick your stuff off site. If your business relies on this magic computer, no big deal to go get it and go back to work.

Oh, forgot to mention... anyone wonder why the Sheriff's Deputies would be SO involved? Well, according to the bystander story in the response, the camper's unruly friend got disrespectful with them and if I recall the story, shot the bird at them. As told, deputies showed up and were going to work something out as you might think they would do, and got disrespected, so they picked sides, their side.

So, no point of carrying this on any further, but when we get back on the trail, I'm going to make a point to visit this campground.

Cheers, Ron

Mark and JR, you're both absolutely right about the truth, but unfortunately this is one of those things we'll never get the truth without more than one eye witness account. It almost becomes a "PEOPLES COURT" kind of thing, with choices based on what little info is available with ruling as follows,
1. Complainant proves case, win
2. Defense proves case, win
3. No one proves case, no one wins
4. And for this forum purpose, dont care.

I'm not sure the old man owner will ever respond and after me posting, I decided to go to the campground website and check it out. In order to see rules, you have to sign up to get an account... big negative as far as campgrounds go.

So, unless this campground is located at or near a national park or major attraction, I'd have to rescind my previous comment about staying there.

For me the preposance of evidence both complainant and the witness mention is the Sheriff's Deputies involvement... unless they are corrupt. I dont see them being this involved, especially multiple ones for jusr receiving a pkg. I could be wrong...

Receiving a package and unruly kids (unless they've vandalized something, or worse) do not warrant law enforcement. For the Deputies to stay around until the people left is quite odd based on what I've heard thus far. There has to be more that went on...

Mark,

Exactly my point...They wouldn't come out just for that. There's more in the witness account that involves their camp mates actions you may want to listen to. I dont know. if I were not recovering from latest RV project, I wouldn't have bothered to listen to the long winded witness version.

Again, I could be wrong and the deputies could be in cahoots with the campground enforcing petty rules... we may never know. Either way I dont guess it matters much except it shows the power of the internet to elevate a story to hundreds of thousands of folks.

I'm not saying you're wrong, just saying hard to believe deputies respond to receiving a pkg and unruly kids is all. Is that what you said too?

Cheers, Ron
