AUX Plug in Dash?

Wonder what kind of oil and filter the dealer uses.

That’s the type of road I mostly tow on and I live in CC whenever possible. Not sure why you’d “never” use it.

Well, because of the "winding" part.....slowing down for the curves. I am not talking about a sorta winding highway that you'd typically take at highway speeds, I am talking about a steep, curvy descent where you'd use lower gears. I slow down for those curves, it doesn't make sense to use CC for only the straightaways. Also, sometimes these speeds are too slow for CC to engage.

I use the combo of CC/EB to accelerate and slow down on those style roads. Sure there are sometimes curves where it’s not practical, but once I’m thru that curve I’m right back into CC.

That’s one thing I find annoying on my 18 over the 05, the 05 would engage the EB in CC 1 mph above the set point but the 18 waits until 5 mph, so I find myself setting the CC slower than I used to for the +5 on coast.

Another odd thing on my 05 was that it wouldn’t set CC until I was in 3rd gear… and it was a manual transmission. I lowered the minimum CC speed with UDC Pro but it still wouldn’t set until 3rd. I had wanted to use it at 20 mph in 2nd on long heavy pulls up slow winding grades.

Why wasn’t it an option on your 04?

I did not want to pull hard in 6th and was constantly shifting between 6th and 5th with my 4:10 RAR in the rolling hills of NC, just able to keep the EGT down with not using CC when I could let up and slow down up hill, then let her eat on the way back down.

Gotcha, 4.10's would have made my 05 a beast!

I did have a considerable amount more power and air on the 05 than stock. It would keep the EGT's cool at 7K feet on a 70° day at 70 up a 4-5% grade at 20K GCW.
