Competition Exhaust Manifold sealing idea???

While the heads off being fitted with the orings... .


Has anyone every tried to oring the exhaust ports on the head to match the manifold? Whould it be better to seal with rings instead of the metal gaskets they use????

Just a brain fart though...

sounds like a great ideal, but why not do the manifold with . 041 stainless , and then use a gasket

So what you are saying is to O ring the Head and the Exhaust manifold???

So... O ring then Metal gasket then O ring???

Sounds like it would work???

What about the expansion and contraction of the monifold on the head???? If you were to just use stainless rings on the head would they still seal with all the movement??

Several vendors out there can get you a one-piece gasket... instead of the OEM individual gaskets. The one-piece gaskets are really well made and a lot easier to install.
