My exhaust is finally rusted out and I was looking for a new one. I have a pacbrake and was wondering if the systems for turbo back connect right to the brake. I am also wanting advice on which system to buy; I don't need a big system but would be happy with the 3. 5" that came stock. When I buy a kit do I need to weld it together or just clamp it? Thanks, Thad

The brake (most likely) replaced the elbow on the turbo so the configuration is same as stock. A Sawzall makes easy work of the removal and the new one should go together pretty easily with just a few clamps.

The brake did replace part of the exhaust, I didn't know if it would affect the install of a new kit. Thanks. Any opinions on a good cheap aluminized kit?

Rolling smoke diesel offers all sizes at a better price than ebay, i run their 5 inch exhaust and entire turbo back system was 312 dollars shipped, if you use promo code CFORUM because it gets you a 5% discount.

My system came today(really FAST shipping). Anyway the muffler has no direction marked on it. I was wondering if the open side of the dimples faces the engine to be quieter or vice versa.

Mine had a little sticker on it that said inlet, otherwise look into muffler, the scallops should have open ends facing engine.

I thought there should be an arrow or something too, but there wasn't. I put the exhaust on today with the open parts front. The truck sounds so quiet now that all the little rattles and squeaks that have probably been there for years are now audible. The install went really well; the directions were really easy to follow. The worst part of the whole thing was getting the old pipes out. You'd think as close as it looked to falling off that part would have been easier. The hardest part of the install was the turbo bolts and they weren't really hard. Overall I'm very happy with Rolling Smoke Diesel; the price, shipping, and parts all were hard to beat.
