filter sys

I had big issues with my truck just after my first payment, all related to the factory filter getting overloaded by water and crap (supplied by an 11 bay interstate truck stop. After the mess was straighten out I went to FASS 95 mounted to my front drivers side rear spring hanger. It is then plumed to my factory filter system. Close to 40k on the sys so far and am very happy.

There are so many systems out there: FASS, AirDog, Baldwin DAHL, etc. It'd certainly be nice figure out which is best once and for all. From my understanding from this conversation and a bunch of others I've ready is that you get pretty comparable performance from all of them as long as the right filters are used with them. Am I on the right track here or did I miss something major?

This may be a dumb question, but is it recommended to install either the xx-fuel or glacier system with an otherwise all stock setup? In other words, does it cause any issues with the stock pump?

Matt,

I am using the stock in tank pick-up pump and the stock CP3 with stock injectors. I also installed the aftermarket Glacier Diesel fuel filter, this is to protect the CP3 pump and injectors from any contaminates that make it past the stock 5um filter. I have been operating this way since May of 2010 it has now been two years with no adverse effects and changing the filters every 10K miles.

Jim,
Thanks for replying. I actually went ahead and ordered the xx system yesterday. I plan to run that with my otherwise all stock setup, including my stock filter. They recommended changing out the filters every 20k miles, but I might do it sooner just to be safe. Hopefully, this will help with the cruddy fuel we're getting these days.
