57,000 miles, 3 front end alignments and five sets of steering tires later, ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ..... and im mad about it!

truck cuts right front steering tire off bad . tire wears on the outside. the left side wears even.

i know that a dually will push front tires off, but not just one of them.

The problems that you describe are what led my dealer to a diagnosis of a bad track bar. The alignment checked out fine, but the outside edge of the RF tire was wearing very badly. There was no unacceptable steering play or wander.

I replaced the track bar and solved the problem. What's more, the new track bar solved the steering wanderproblem I hadn;t recognized. YMMV.

I agree with Matt. I drove my truck for so long with the problem, I didn't realize there was one until I fixed it. And I had weird tire-wear problems, too. It was the track bar.

Whose track bar are you guys using? Is it necessary to align after replacement? I replace my front tires every 7500-miles. Thought it was mainly due to my winding mountain commute. Right front always is the worst. Thanks.

I used a lifetime warranted NAPA bar, works great but have used a Luke's Link on others with success. If the Luke's was available back when I needed it that's the route I would have taken. Considerably cheaper, like $150, for the same end result.

I'll have to try this. My 2000 3500 4x4 also wears out the outside of the front right side tire. Ma ybe I'll try the Trac Bar fix. If I could purchase the DT bracket alone, I'll make the rest of the bar myself for a fraction of the price they charge. Plus, I prefer steal over aluminum.

Got my trac bar from Advance Auto for $107 bucks. It had a lifetime warranty at the time, but I think they changed that. Made by TRW, at least that's what the box said.

I used a lukes link for my track bar problem. Been on for about 20K and no noticeable play. I am happy with it. Might be an option for you.
