Are you running the factory controller?

I started with Factory then changed to my MaxBrake. I was GOLDEN! Then it went on the fritz. Then back to OE unit with flash. It was better but not good enough. Heard all the good about the P3 so I went with it. Not any better than the flashed OE.

So I am hoping to get my MaxBrake working again.

OK guys get your money out.

Just south of $300.

The one I made intercepts between truck and trailer rather than applying a load inside the box. No I didn't add the lights but it's only money to do that but I did add a switch for the charge line test, it works.

I think it would work fine as SnoKing's does with a lighter RV.

Ron our trailers are close to the same weight and have the same brake/running gear setup. Mine works great. My truck does have bigger brakes, but I don't think that's impacting trailer brake performance. Does your second trailer also have brakes? Mixed Heavy EOH and HE?

Just trying to understand everyone's configuration when comparing.

ALL: BTW, I ordered the Tekonsha Current Monitor off Amazon $269 free shipping.

Cheers, Ron

Ron,

Sorry to help you spend $$$ it looks very promising to test truck/controller.

Gary

No problem. Looks pretty cool. Even though I'm not having any problems, I would like to baseline my trucks. Then, should I ever have a problem, I'll have a reference point.

Not really on topic here, but one of the reasons I picked Ram Cab and Chassis trucks as my last two haulers, is they have the biggest brakes. I unintentionally tested on my 4500 towing my 18K lb Cyclone when the trailer plug became unplugged. The truck stopped just fine. GCW was 30.2K lbs.

Thanks for the product reference.

Cheers, Ron

Second trailer has no brakes and does not effect braking performance. It weighs 1200-2000# one or two bikes. I run 10 on EOH.

MaxBrake controller touch brake pedal and trailer brakes start coming on NOW. No delay like P3 and RAM's controller.

The RV's brakes work but there is a delay and come on stronger as there is more forward force.

Lol! Towing heavy is a life goal?

Yes Sir! These trucks excel at towing heavy, and for many of us, is the primary reason for owning a Ram Cummins. Aside from the awesome towing/hauling capability, there is a definite cool factor associated with towing heavy loads across the US, tackling heavy traffic on busy interstates and excelling climbing and descending extreme highway grades. There is a special sound the Cummins makes when hauling heavy that makes you smile. :D

And when on the road, seeing other folks living the American dream driving their amazing rigs, hauling their RVs and work loads with Ram trucks that a few years ago would have required a Freightliner or equivalent to tow legally. Kinda want to break out singing America the Beautiful or something, doesn't it?

So, we heavy haulers are a proud group, more or less the 30K lb plus GVW club.

Cheers with your Beers,

Ron

Yeah! Gotta pack mama's wardrobe and "jellies and rocks" into the travel trailer ya know. :D
Go to 5:17 of the clip for the rocks and jelly scene. Great movie if you haven't seen it .

Ha Ha Ha!:D The Long Long Long Trailer!

Mama's got the topside packed full, I have the basement slap full.... two BBQ pits: A Traeger Tailgater for smoking/slow cooking and piece of oil pipeline grill for steaks. Gotta have fire kissing the meat.;):D We eat good on the road!

Happy Trails,

My 27 footer is too big for where I like to go. There have been times I wish I would have went smaller, getting back into the bush and off the grid is the place to be.

Away from it all, not in the thick of it all :)

Hmmm, so I can see you two (separately, of course) now at the RV lot......

The Ron's: "Excuse me sir, what is the heaviest trailer you have"
Sales guy: "We have this Mobil Saweeet that is 31,000 lbs"
The Ron's: "Hmmm, the dealer down the street has one that is 31,500 lbs, what can you do?"
Sales guy: "We can put some rocks and jellies in it and that should put us at 31,600 lbs"
The Ron's: "Sold!....but put concrete in the water tank, we only go to fancy trailer parks anyway"

:D

….And are there any really heavy accessories I can add? Enclosed slide covers, 6500 watt generator, sliding shelves in the storage compartments so we can load more "stuff"?:rolleyes:

Damn, you sure got us pegged!

Cheers with your beers!

The other Ron:D
