Ok guys. I'm running stock fuel filter set-up but getting fleetguards from Genos. Is this the best filter for the stock set-up. If not what is. What is emulsified and such.
The Fleetguard version of the Baldwin BF1212 is FS1212. The Fleetguard FS1000, or shorter version FS1001 filters finer as it is used on the electronic N14 engines. I just don't remember the ratings. A call to FLG @ 1-800-22-FILTER would tell us. A FS1240B has a bowl on the bottom of it as well, similar to the one in post 11. Shadrach
also i dont run the WS1001 i use the fleetguard FS1023. does thsi w/s do a good job?
Baldwin PF7977 is the best for the OE canister.
The Baldwin BF1212 has a higher f/w separation rating than the FS1212, the FS1212 is a hair better at filtration. . but the point in this filter is f/w sep. The next filter inline is the final one.
I have spent hours on ratings, run the BF1212. Its the best fit for the purpose and application. The FS1000 is has similar f/w sep ratings to the BF1212, but is a finer filter and will plug sooner, the finer filtering isn't needed on the inital filter. I run the BF1212 and was able to get 30K miles from my filters with a . 5psi drop, 20um absolute for an initial filter is perfect IMHO.
Haha. . have you read any of this thread?
Yea i have read it and am a bit confused. to me it sounds like the FS1023 is the same as the ws1001. but i am not exactly sure. my other questions was will that filter fit on the fass 150 series pump or will i need to buy some sort of housing to get it in my system... .
I am just a fellow TDR member trying to do the best for my truck... .
Yes, the WS1001 is the FS1023. All of the specs listed are FS1023, so you can see at the top of the thread the specs for your filter.
ok now what about the baldwin BF1212 can i put it in the place of the FS1023. like will it just screw on and work?
