any difference between the BF1212W and the BF1212 other than color and price?

BF1212W is white and is listing at 25. 00 and the BF1212 is red and lists at 14. 50 at the parts place I use.

disregard they are the same except the "W" verison comes with a $10 piece of foam rubber to wrap around it in the winter.

Any idea if the foam is actually nessecary?

I crossed the Baldwin to Donaldson (P558000) is it the same or better? I just changed my FF and WS on my Fass 150... . of course I had to buy and extra set so I had them on hand.

The P558000 doesn't have same f/w separation specs. The Baldwin BF1212 is the best of that filter, from everyone who makes one.

Hey i wanted to thank yo for taking all the time to help me and the others with all this. you seem as if you know a ton on this subject.

I have installed the BF1212 pressure is a little different but i feel better knowing i have something thats working!

Does that Baldwin BF 1212 fit on the Airdog?
I have plumbed mine going through the factory fuel filter set up.

Who makes the Luberfiner LFF9594? PF 7977 I understand is a Baldwin filter. I'll try their site for dealer locator.
Thank you.
Ilian

Ok, I googled the Luberfiner. It is I guess an independent company making filters and other products. Are those good? Never heard of that company before. I hope I can find them locally through their dealer list.
Thank you.

Hey AH64-Thats' what I was asking about. I was going to put the PF7977 in the stock fuel filter location. If this is right where can I get one.

Stopped by a filter shop today on the way home from work and picked up a BF1212, which now resides on my FASS150. The stock "water seperator" now resides in the trash.

Same here thanks to Apache :) I was due for both filters being replaced. Got the HF6604 secondary and the Baldwin BF1212 (red). I always write the date and mileage on the bottom of the canisters in perm marker so I can glance and see when I am due for a change. I went 3 years and only 20K miles till now on the old ones...

Another diesel site (DTR) I posted this same topic on, closed the topic and said they are getting the guy in from FASS to explain.

Looks like that web site is playing vender protectionism. Can't be talkin bad now.

The silence from FASS on this issue is deafening... I would like to see them chime in and comment on this.

The fellow that used to post for them (DieselDan) no longer works for them. Not sure if they have a forum rep anymore.

I got all of my stuff from Glacier Diesel. I use fleetguards 1212 water seperator (10 micron), and the 5320 fuel filter (2 micron).

WHAT! They would never do that on DTR :DOo.

A little off on your specs. . FS1212 is 20um, and FF5320 is 5um.

I suggest using a Baldwin BF1212 over a FS1212, the Baldwin has a bit better f/w separation ratings.

If you want a true 2um go with a Donaldson P551313 or Cat 1R-0750
