I guess that I will keep my truck as it might become a collector vehicle; since some of the 4X4's could be bought back. My truck which is an 2008 but built in Sept 07 and sold new in Nov 07 to me; has the older style steering linkage on this truck. Similar to the non-recalled years of trucks built. I went in for the inspection and the dealer said my truck did not meet the criteria for the recall on the steering linkage.
A couple of months later the RH passenger side tie rod joint failed; going over a set of railroad tracks at a slow speed. I did send a letter to both FCA corporation and the NHTSA about the failure and my concerned over this failure. Thank-you very much and there is the door attitude from FCA was the response. So I do not think I will see anything from FCA about this recall on the truck now. The steering linkage was rebuilt using all MOOG grease able components, I had 81K miles on the original steering components when this failure occurred.
I am now waiting on the driver side Air bag recall fix. I have the recall notice telling me to wait since they do not have the parts to fix my truck and a notice will be sent when they are available.
