Man, I installed my #10 plate and took out that Banks plate and wow, what a difference!!:--) First, I checked to see if the gov. lever was hitting the banks plate and sure enough it was hitting below the plate, hence the reason I had low EGTs and low boost... . NO FUEL!! Then, I threw in the #10 about . 040" forward from stock and checked the lever again and BAM it was hitting just right, about 1/16" to 1/8" just above the bottom edge of the plate. After I saw that lever hitting the new plate I was much relieved and proceeded to put it all back together. Test drove it this morning, had a few too many beers last night to test it then, so took it out on the highway this morning and DAMN!!! What a difference!! I barely gave it any throttle in 3rd gear and the boost gauge went from about 12 psi to 34 in 1 second!! Then I shifted @ about almost 40 psi!! I could not believe it. My EGTs weren't even that hot. I think I could back off the AFC star wheel a bit though cuz I had just a bit too much pre-boost smoke taking off from the line, but then again I kind of like the smoke amount. Going up the grade near my house in 5th gear was amazing as well. I barely gave it any throttle up the hill and it spooled the turbo up so fast, and accelerated so quick up the hill!! My EGTs then only got to about 1250 max, with maybe 30-40% throttle. Then I turned around and got on it back down the hill and the EGTs got to about 1300 giving it about 70% throttle in 3rd gear, so that was interesting, but never got too hot, just got to keep an eye on it when really getting on it in the higher gears.
So, I would like to give a special thanks to Nascar Mark up at Piers and another to San Felipe Bob for his experienced input as well. Now its time to decide what the next mod will be, but in the meantime I am saving the cash and enjoying my #10 plate, 3K GSK and all that new found power. Bring on the rice burners!!!!
