Naw, keep it man !! You won't know what you got till its gone !!... ( where have I heard that one before)

haha, you guys are funny! And GS is correct, if the bumper doesnt go with the truck when sold, I told the builder of the bumper that he would have first dibs on it.

Guys, reason I am thinking this is that I bought a Van for work, so when I finish the Van, I dont need the truck. We have a Jeep for driving around town, that is damn nice. The truck rides like a damn stone wheeled cart, and to be honest, I thought I never would say it, but I am sick of the stacks, and the rattle. Maybe I am just getting old, but some days I really get sick of driving it. In all honesty, I wana save some money up and buy a 3rd gen later down the road.

I guess maybe I just need to relax, and sit back and enjoy it... but its hard at times. Its just a chunk of steel, no need to get emotional about it, right? :-laf It is paid off, which is nice. Guys, whats wrong with me... am i losing my mind? :-laf

:--)

I cannot believe what I am reading! STOP! Sit back and relax a bit. Give that truck a good cleaning inside and out and you will likely fall in love with it again. If after that you still have the same thoughts, then you are probably on the right track to let it go.

Alpha..... PM me my fiance is looking for a truck perferably CTD and we are currently trying to sell her '02 VW Bettle Gas-Turbo 6spd fully loaded.

I think what is really getting to me is there are other things i want to put my money into, like my house, and stuff like that. My house needs a complete over haul, and I dont quite have the money to do it. Selling the truck wouldnt really do a lot, but It would get the ball rolling. Another reason I want to possibly sell the land I own. I guess I am sick of spending time and money on the Ram. It needs a new steering box, vacuum pump seals, trac-bar, steering componates, hubs, and on top of that some body work and could use a new paint job. The last thing I want to dump money into is my truck.

I dont know what it is lately, but I would be happy selling alot of my "toys" as I dont really "need" them. For some reason material items are meaning less and less day after day. More and more, my home, my wife, and my faith in the Lord seem to be the only things that really matter, and not in that order either.

Call it an early mid-life crisis if you will, or somthing, but I just lately have felt there is more to life than what I see... and the stuff that doesnt seem needed, wouldnt mind me a bit if it was cut.

Give me a month, I am sure it will probably blow over... but we will see.

Man, I wish Chip Foose and the gang from Overhaulin would steal it... . :-laf

Matt, I'm kinda feeling like I'm partially responsible with how you are feeling lately with me loosing my wife and you feeling more connected with whats most important in your life after this hits so close to home for you. Sure your truck may need a few things fixed but dont give up on it yet. In fact I have a vauum pump here that I can rebuild for you and send it your way after all the help you were to me last month. If you want to come down this way some weekend we can pull it into my shop and give it one of my Snyder overhauls and I'm sure you will be in love again. My own truck is really needing attention now that it broke 210,000 miles but after loosing Carrie and knowing how much support she gave me with it I will never sell it. If you would sell it and fix your house up then you would decide you want that third gen and would be back making payments again and you would be mad at the choices you made. If you can put a little money away for materials I would be very happy to make the drive up there for a few weekends to help you remodel free of charge as long as your wife will make me a few good home cooked meals. You will have to give me a few weeks because I decided mid week here to take a sledge hammer to my house to help ease my pain and thoughts. Once you hit a wall with a sledge there is no going back. I'm doing a major overhaul by myself right now just so I feel better. You take some time to consider things and whatever you decide you need help with you just call and I'll be there friend!

Chris

I sold mine. I regret not having a CTD but I am sort of glad I did. If it's not what you want or need, then no point in having it. It is a nice looking truck though. If I could afford one now I would take yours off your hands for you. I am looking to get a quad cab shorty with towing mirrors. I am looking for an 01. 5-02 though.

I miss my truck but the bike makes more sense right now with better mileage, cheaper payments, and insurance, and it's new, not a 99 like my truck. I am probably getting an older S4 or A4/A6 Audi here soon, and when I turn 25 in September my insurance will drop, and maybe I can get a truck and sell the car to the parents :)

Good luck whatever you do!

Nick

I look at it this way - my truck is a toy too. I could go to work in a minivan - might even save on gas. But I don't have many (any!) toys that are as much fun. If the non-fun aspects of your truck (cost, repairs, fuel) outweigh the fun, sell it. It's a beautiful truck, and if Chris can overhaul it with you, I'd say go for it. If it's still not enough fun after the repairs are made, then get rid of it and do something useful with the money.

What kind of van did you buy? I'm really partial to the Astro/Safari's

Dodge Ram 25oo Cargo Van. paid 500 for it. needs some work, but not a bad deal with only 164k miles on the clock.

Well, I washed the ol' gal the other day, and wow, she looks goooooood clean! :D Well, except all the tree branch custom pin striping! :-laf Oh, and those dents from 3 foot boulders! Oh well, any of you want to help me, and teach me how to do body work and paint the ol' gal with me this summer? :D
