Hi everyone,

Was wondering if it is safe to use the 7 Micron Fleetguard fuel filter in my 2002 Cummins, or should I stick with the 10 Micron filter ??

Thanks,

RH

Filters

I have used the 7micron filters on my 02 but they tend to plug up a lot faster than the 10 microns. I think the 10 micron is good for the vp cummins but you need the 7 micron for the common rail.

Thanks, that's what I was thinking too and heard a while back... I just wanted to confirm, and see if anyone did run a 7 micron and what happens, being the lift pump isn't that strong.

Thanks Again,

Randall

If you are running a stock fuel system the banjo fittings are already more restriction than the system needs. A 7 micron filter will only make the fuel pressure less.
