My '98 has 33,500 on it and i'm on my way to replace my second fuel sending sensor. Eratic readings from under 1/4 fuel level reading. Am I isolated or others having this problem also?

Join the club. I've been running the last three years without a fuel gage (use the odometer) after repairing the sending unit out of warranty at 40K miles.

You're still in warranty make them fix it. They should come out with a recall IMHO. I bet I could come up with a couple dozen just in Houston alone.

I had the same problem with my 1999. I had three sending units in the first nine months. One of the members posted a TSB number on this. I took it to my dealer we looked it up on their computer it was a complete module. The gauge has worked fine ever since. Maybe someone will post the TSB number or have your dealer look it up and order the correct module. Good Luck

Fuel sending units, like TPS's on auto's, I'm on my third for both with less than 96K.
If you know it please repost the TSB.

I may not be much, but I'm all I think about.

95 that is lightly used. Dressed out nicely with 19. 5 wheels from Rickson Truck.

I'm on my third one in 75k. The last time I replaced it, I got the entire module. We'll see if it works any better. The newer module was all plastic instead of steel. There is also a procedure in one of the TDR issues, #28 I think, that explains how to fix your old one. But it only applies to certain versions. Mine was different than what they described.

Mine never worked from the day I got it(used). I just fill it up at about 400 miles. It takes anywhere from 22 to 27 gals when it had 400 on the trip odometer. With a 35 gallon tank I got plenty of reserve just in case.
