I need a lot of items to increase the power of my 2001.5 ram 3500 5.9 diesel, the transmission is the a 47RE stock auto but ive decided to start with gauges first, I want to be able to see what everything is befor the mods then after. my question is,

what brand of gauges have you guys found to be the most reliable? My first gauge is going to be a boost, the EGT befor turbo, then transmission, auto meter comes to mind but is there another you recommend? Thank You all so much. I will be asking questions from start to finish.

I've had auto meter really like them my new truck has edge juice with attitude . It has fuel psi egt boost and fuel psi all visible at one time . I would get a fuel psi as the main thing if your goina get them one at a time

The top quality gauges are ISSPRO, Autometer, Dakota Digital, Westach. But in case you're not wanting multiple individual gauges some hp boxes come with gauges in one complete LCD screen. The basic gauges you'd want are EGT (pyrometer), Boost, fuel pressure, and transmission temp for an automatic.

Im going with the drivers pillar gauge pod and have a question, is there certain gauges needed to mount in the pod? Some gauges have 2 threaded studs, others have a bracket?

If I was looking at a new tuner/gauge combo I'd be looking hard at the new Smarty. They keep promising some form of UDC in the near future which would make the deal all that much sweeter.

Gotta do something with that trans first, or it will be short lived once you start adding power. A good valve body to up the line pressure and a TC would help tremondously, but depending on your power goals a full rebuild will be in your future.

I planned on getting a smarty, but I like the analog meter setup too. Im going to get the transmission done first, while its out I will do the fuel mods, then turbo/exhaust/brake/ injectors and whatever else
