not sure where i would post this one, but. I have noticed for the last few years, that almost EVERY SINGLE GM suv or truck has a driving light or marker light out..... 2000 newer from what i can tell. anyone else seen this? When im on my motorcycle i tell people it a light is out etc when i get to stoplight, but i have givin up tellin GM people about it.:rolleyes:

I've also noticed that most drivers who leave their high beams on when I am oncoming are driving GM trucks and SUVs. I have two theories why this is the case: 1) the high beam indicator is on the lower corner of the dash and not obvious to the driver or 2) they are just chevy drivers Has anyone else noticed this?

I noticed that same thing shortly after GM changed body styles back in 1999 or 2000. You would see trucks that were obviously less than a year old with one light burned out already and it hasn't seemed to change. I had a 98 Chevy with the DRL's and I never had to change a headlight bulb the 7 years that I owned it.

yeah thats a fun game to play on the interstate to see the percentage of lights out on chevy's and its usually pretty hi, nobody really notices until you point it out and you then see it all the time

Daytime running lights

I had a 2001 2500HD short box Pickup and my drive lights would burn out but I would change them out. The OEM bulb would not last past 1 1/2 years. I then put in after market bulbs and they are still working (my youngest son bought my Chevy). Most drivers do not read the owners manual or now how to change them out. Once you learn very ease to do just pull two pins and light housing will come out, then bulb can be changed, total time 20 mins. ( this includes getting a drink)

I've seen some super bright LED's at Freightliner dealer last week. All sorts of illegal colors, blue, purple, rainbow (looks white at a distance).

The yellows were super bright compared to the others, good enough for DRL.

It's so common, I figure they must come from the factory that way.

I can't think of a better way for GM to broadcast their utter buffoonery than to make such a visible part of their vehicles so exceptionally unreliable. It just screams "low quality".

I see stuff like that and I think, "if they can't get something that simple right, why in the world would I ever want to buy one of their products?"

They all have their share of problems, but this DRL issue is right in your face, showing off GM incompetence.

Now that you mention it just today I saw three on the wat into work :-laf I figured that since they were on during the day they did not notice they were out.

I notice the same burned out lamps on the GM trucks. It reminds me of the 80's Toyota trucks that were notorious for having burned out passenger tail lamps or brake lamps. I would be inclined to think this is a wiring/voltage glitch. I love my Dodge, but I have owned both GM &Toyota trucks that were equally reliable.

I also have noticed the bulbs out on GM trucks.
But... ... ... ... . both of my fog lights were burned out this winter. I have the fogzilla set-up with 65W bulbs. They lasted for approx. 2 yrs. I did notice them though and replaced both.
