Why in world would you pay double.
We can dance around this forever, but hell yes you think its a superior oil, you don't have to say it. :roll eyes: Action speaks louder then words.
people buy what they buy for a variety of reasons, some good, some bad. marketing, past practice or in my case, I like the packaging. LOL
And....kthaxton's response #2
Odd, you ask the question, but then say "you don't have to say it". Do you want the answer or not? Oh wait, you were already provided an answer.
And then....which actions speak louder than words? You've kinda got a word salad going on in that response.
Whitewolf is likely the first person that has posted on this thread that NEEDS synthetic oil given his location and subsequent ambient temps.
What are you 12V98's muppet :-laf , I don't remember asking you anything. It's obvious I'm getting you riled up a bit. Calm down, it just some friendly banter on oil.
I don't care what oil you guys run, I find more humor in it then anything.
You obviously haven't paid attention, I get on his butt too when I disagree with him, he will tell you the same thing.
I think annoyed is a better term than riled. You're synthetic oil rants have been going on for a couple years now, it's rather annoying. You appear to not understand that synthetic oil is superior....and you won't shut up about the fact that YOU can't justify the cost. Great, you've made your point. Time to move on. Hopefully someday, you can sleep at night knowing that some people are just fine with spending extra money (of their own, mind you) on superior oil.....all while realizing you are not required to do the same.
You're like my 12 year old, he thinks being annoying is the same as being funny.

I know about synthetics, how could I not after listening to you on how superior it is, your words. Some buy in ,some don't.
Let me ask you a question, no let me ask for your advise, if I trade my truck every three to four years , what oil in a 6.7 Cummins would you recommend, and why, with less then 100K

You don't buy the data that says so? You know something they don't?
I recommend you find the cheapest approved oil you can find.....so your OCD will let you sleep at night.
Let me ask you a question, what point are you trying to make? You've already stated, ad nauseam, synthetics are not worth it to you.....others have stated it is worth it to them. Why are you still going on about it? Nobody told you what to do.
Let me dumb it down....
Joe Blow says he likes Oil A
Cummins2014 isn't willing to pay for Oil A so he uses Oil B
Jow Blow's mention of his oil preference is no requirement for Cummins2014 to use Oil A
Cummins2014 can use Oil B to his heart's content.
No one cares what oil Cummins2014 chooses to use.
Therefore, Cummins2014 is able to use Oil B
Calm down, take a deep breath, don't worry what oil others choose to use.
See what I get for starting another oil thread![]()
Please use the most expensive super duper stuff you can buy in the unlikely event I purchase your used truck. I can't afford new :-laf
I may of missed it ,what oil do you use![]()
I am not the one here that needs to take a deep breath, what seven paragraphs here of ranting away.
I just asked for your advice . You are letting me get under your skin, not necessary. Again calm down, this is not life or death, just a bit of banter on this winter day![]()
Lets move on ,what are thoughts on oil filter change thru the fender, or taking off the turbo intake.
I believe I have you beat in terms of frugality on this oil run.....
My cousin was low on oil (I fill out of his drums and pay him for whatever I use, at bulk price) and was a month out on making another order. So I went shopping. Advanced Auto just so happened to have a special on Mobil Delvac 1300 at $13 per gallon. Mobil also was running an online rebate of $7 per gallon, up to 5 gallons. So I ended up buying 5 gallons for $30.
Not too shabby.
I was mocking you. You won't let it go.....not this time, nor the previous 4-5 times you went on this same diatribe.
Your tactic of appearing to be on the high road by constantly stating that you are getting under my skin isn't working. You can keep doing it if you like, but it doesn't work. Your constant bickering about a person oil choice makes it appear like others are getting under yours.
I just wonder, at which point will you feel like you got your point across? I mean, if your only point is that synthetic isn't worth it to you, you've made that point, but I could make a separate post, getting up at the pulpit of the TDR town square and let it be known to all members that you aren't willing to pay for synthetic. Would that make you happy?
I've used both, depending on my mood. However, I intend to buy the new, Lisle (read, inexpensive) filter cap and I will likely do it through the fender from now on. We'll see. For the record, I am not interested in what method anyone else uses. My mind needs better stimulation than that.
