I have a 03 cummins with tst, afe, bullydog exhaust and i got beat by my buddies duramax with only a edge juice on level 4. I had my setting on 7/3 at 5500 ft elevation. We raced 3 times: first dead stop not power brake outcome he launches 2 truck legths and I start catching him in odrive and run out of room in 1/4 mile. second power brake and that stupid tq control detunes my truck no gain and he power brakes and beats me even worse.

What can I do different before upgrading turbo? FASS? Lift pump? Injectors?

I have recently put a edge ez on setting 3 and stacked it with tst and I notice I cant run over 6/3 and I have to shut it down quicker because I was told not to run over 1100 degrees because my egt probe is mounted after turbo. Does that sound right?

Please any help from you would be much apreciated!

What type of transmission ,gearing do you have. The Duramax is 600 to 800 LBS less than the Dodge. We have a 2004 LB7 it has Six-Gun ,Techni-cooler, Complete upgraded trans with co-pilot,My 2003 takes out of the hole every time ,after 20 mph the max runs away from the Dodge,Our max spanks every Edge owner we know,Something is not working properly on your Dodge It should be a close race.

Oh yeah 3. 73 gears with 35" toyo mt. He has 315 bfg at

The stock 48re is robbing you of 40hp plus, those tires and gearing are not a good race combination. That amount of Hp put to your stock TC it is slipping regardless if you feel it or not. You need to upgrade your trans with a commander.

10,000, put 2,000 and the cummins will spank the max every time.

I don't know... I have a buddy with an 02 Duracaddy with banks exhaust and Afe intake with an Edge Juice/Attitude (HOT). His truck is straight up fast. Even towing he runs cooler then I do allowing him to run a little faster. I need more air flow and I think it will be a better race. On the street from light to light its a good race though.

In-reality he is running much hotter cylinder temps than you are,by design the cummins is pulling much more heat through the exhaust than the V-8 diesel do,also he probably has his probe on the driver/rider side and is only measuring 4 holes.

On a side note the No 4 cam bearing on high mileage LB7 engines are being spun This will cause the Turbo to fail. You must remove oil supply hose to see if the cam bearing aligns with the hole in the block. I know of one GM owner that this cost him two turbo"s and one reman engine. This started after he purchase his Edge on Ebay(THE EDGE PRODUCT HAD ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH THE TURBO/BEARING FAILURE)when his turbo fail the Ebay seller would not return his calls and Left him Negative feedback,So he took the truck to a automotive repair shop( Not a Performance shop) they replace the turbo and did not look into the cause. Two Days later the new turbo failed he return to the automotive repair shop and they said the cause was the Mods(totally incorrect) that"s when he ask us to take a look at it. When I told him the problem and the recommended recourse, the expression on his face I don"t want to see again,He was devastated . I would encourage all to By Performance products from a Known Performance shop .

This incident could happen to anyone buying Performance( Banks,Edge,Quad, etc) products on Ebay

Sorry a little of topic ,the fail engine had 132,458. GM is aware of this type of failure.

I know when I got my '01 transmission upgraded to a DTT, the extra power to the ground was very noticeable.

transmission upgrades are exspensive but well worth it. I put 433,000 miles on my DTT transmission.

the last dmax i raced i had my 02 short bed quad cab ,auto, we where cruising about 55, the dmax pulled away, but only for a short time, when i passed him at 107 you should of seen the look on his face! i guess he didnt think a dodge with a cummins and a car trailer didnt stand a chance?
