governor spring kit install
I decided to install the GSK in Tulare this weekend. With a lot of help from Blair, Piers, and the RamRunner crew we finally got the thing all buttoned up. I like the higer RPM but I don't like the loss of power. I used to make 30+ pounds of boost... now, I'm lucky if I make 17.
I drove home ,just barely,
towing my behemoth trailer and started bright and early Monday to check why boost is low. I removed the air horn and checked the gasket and checked all boost clamps. All seems fine. I put rtv on the threads of the air horn bolts and put it all back togeather. Nothing has changed.
The truck has a TST cam plate in it as well as a 16cm2 exhaust housing.
I have heard that sometimes the cam follower gets out of adjustment after a spring kit because the geometry in the pump changes. I think the pump is defueling now. Any Ideas?
