WOW you guys that suggested them were right.
I bought the 5" single kit.
Very NICE.
I had MBRP exhaust on my 2003 and they weren't near as well thought out as this.
The aluminization is very nice as well as the claps.
All hangers hook to the factory rubbers.
The kit is VERY solid when on the truck.

I was surprised that there is absolutely no drone with the muffler on it.

I'm also amazed at how quiet it is LOL.

I will leave the muffler on long enough to fill with soot :D

If it isn't louder then I will put a straight pipe in.

I just hope that doesn't make it drone.

The extra length that came with the kit was for a extended cab, save it.

Cut it down and put inplace of the muffler. :D

Forrest, mine isn't stacks.

It's an actual turbo back kit, terminating at the factory tailpipe location.

The exhaust follows the exact same route the factory exhaust did, it's just a wee tad bigger. LOL

The exhaust on it before was a "custom" made 5" from turbo back.

It started off at 3" and jumped straight to 5" pipe, then to 5" flex, then a 5" 90 degree elbow terminating just in front of the rear wheel.

The problem was they had to smash the 5" down to make it passed the frame up by the turbo.

It rubbed the frame badly.

Just a little Recap-----

I wanted to comment on a couple of things I've noticed performance wise.

My original exhaust not installed by me:

Performance- If I nailed the throttle from a dead start it lagged BAD.

LOTS of smoke, once it got moving it was fine, bad drone at 55-60 with 4. 10 Gears.

It did sound good though. Could hear the turbo at the tailpipe when shutting down.

New Exhaust:

Leaves turbo at 3" goes directly to 4", stays 4" until just in front of the rear axle.

4" enters muffler, muffler exit is 5", 5" up over axle to factory exit point.

Performance- If I nail it off the line, it lags very little

Smokes but nothing like before, feels much quicker.

Absolutely no drone- Sound is not as good but it's growing on me.

It sounds a little bit like my 2003 did.

A little "airy" at idle, can't hear the turbo wind down when you shut it down.

ahh, I see said the blind man :)

my current system is a 4" DP that goes to 5" and exits in front of the back tire... all of my previous systems have been 4" to about the carrier joint on the DS... I will say that I get a fair amount of lag and am considering going back to my typical setup using more 4" pipe.

thanks for the informative post :)

I have 2 friends that had the MBRP exhaust systems and both got rid of them do to the weight of them they both had the same problems of the mounts breaking off. After several repairs by both they both went with alumanized systems and have not had problems since.
