I thought we'd tackled all this before. Of course any fastener can loosen, but I thought it was discussed in other threads that the bolt melting was either a programming issue or a relay issue that keeps power to the heater long enough to melt the bolt. Did I miss or misunderstand what I read?

That’s not the issue, when the relay fails the relay itself catches fire.

Two independent issues. The relay can catch fire, or the bolt can come loose and arc/heat itself off and end up in a cylinder.

I didn’t comment on that thread, but I’ve mentioned on other threads that it’s two independent issues when you’ve tied them together.

All 6.7’s have the loose nut potential, but only some gen 4.5’s have the relay fire issue.

Got it. I'm having a terrible run of posting misinformation lately. I think I need to shut up and listen instead.....

@BigPapa, That's not it, just take some time to enjoy the change of seasons. We all get caught up in the fast pace of things and don't take some time to relax. It's hard to keep up with all the issues that take place with our trucks. I've gotten into the habit of whenever I open the hood to check and/or add fluids, wiggle that darn grid heater bolt!
