H2O hoses - flat roll-up kind

Anybody use the flat roll-up hoses? Do they last? Particular brands to look for/stay away from? I don't have much extra storage space in my 5th wheel and the darn garden hose takes up a bunch of room.....

Brian , I have a 25' and 50' hose from Camping World. Can't remember the brand but it's the wind on a reel type. Works excellent, highly recommended. Although I haven't used them enough to comment on long life, they have brass ends and seem good quality.



Only thing to be aware of, if you're not already, is that the hose must be removed from the reel before use and is pretty susceptable to kinking, also you need to keep it somewhat clean or it won't wind up too well.



If you use it for filling the tank etc like I do it should be great and they take up very little room - I keep both inside the service access door for my water heater (not the one where you light it, the other one inside the trailer).

I had one once... took it back to Camping World. Twists, kinks, PITA. I now use a 50' Sears. I don't think it takes that much more room, but the usability is worth it.

Just my luck - I bought one of those last week from Camping World and someone NOW says that it is a PITA.



Well I still have my high dollar fiberglass hose, which also kinks a little.



BTW - the advertisement I've seen on TV (not the one I bought) states that you just roll out what you need. I heard that and told the wife that was misleading. The entire hose has to be rolled out to use it.



I still bought one. Just a 25' hose.

Did not like mine either, because you had to lay it out with "flowing" curves so it would not restrict water flow.

I was thinking about trying the new kind of hose that has a permanent coil in it. Looks like it would work good. Seen them at Wally World & Home Depot.

It's easy to punch a hole in them if your not careful. While setting up at a campground on the Outer Banks, i unrolled the hose, laid it out with no kinks and turned on the water. It expanded as usual and brushed against a thorn bush and poked a hole in it. The leak wasn't drastic but after 10 minutes or so we had a nice puddle forming and decided to buy one from the campground store. Yes, i know, it's my fault but i don't think the "standard" hose wouldn't have gotten a hole in it.

I have one it takes forever to get back on the reel. It stays in the trailer for emergency use now. I bought one with the permanent coil. Best thing I ever did fits in a small area and doesn't kink unless you try to make it kink.
