I just got my renewal card the other day. Im not sure if Im going to re-up or not. I sold my 04. 5 about 6 months ago and was planning to get a new Mega Cab. Well, things change. My Dad passed away 2 months ago and left behind his new Ford Powerstroke Crew Cab Duelly 4x4. It is a deal I can't refuse. Im heading to Nevada to pick it up in a few weeks. I had a 97 Powerstroke duelly and it was a good truck. Actually, it is still in use on the ranch in Nevada with over 300k miles on it. Who knows, maybe someday Ill get another Dodge. I will have to see what happend with the 07 truck and the emission garbage. Until then, Ill be the guy on I-5 in the cool Ford duelly between Grants Pass Oregon and Chico California. No anti FORD flames please on this thread as Ill be thinking of my Dad everytime I get behind the wheel! :) The man was my hero.

Its been a great ride here and Ive met alot of good people!

Very sorry for your loss. You should have good luck with that ford the 7. 3 is an excellent motor. Good luck and hope to here from you in the future, just because you have a ford now doesn't mean you have to leave the TDR.

Why not re-up anyway, for only $35 it's not that bad... .....

I'm a Ford guy at heart and really like the Ford trucks but just couldn't bring myself to get the 6. 0 motor after I heard about all the problems. I had a f550 picked out with custom bed etc... Not to mention the truck I got (although not a class 5 truck) was about 15k cheaper...

Hey Phil, if you get lonely for a Cummins I've got all three flavors, a first, second, and third gen sitting in the driveway. I'll let you take one for a spin so you can remember that sound of the I6 CTD rumbling.

Fords are OK, especially the 7. 3, but they just aren't the same.

Sorry to hear about your Dad.

Jim

Take care Phil & don't be a stranger. I'm sure you'll enjoy that dually & give it the care it deserves. Let us see a pic of it in your gallery before you go, so we can keep on eye out for you on I-5 while I'm out passing gas.

By saying new dually do you mean 05/06???

Hmmm, Actually, Im not sure of the year. I saw it the last time I visited and I assume it is an 04, or 05, yet it could be an 02 or 03. He has been really sick for the past few years and unable to drive. :( I really hope it is an 02 as that was the last year of the BIG powerstroke. Still, its got about 800 miles on it and sits in the garage covered. Im not asking alot of questions as it is FREE. Im also bringing home a really nice John Deere Gator to use around my place here in Oregon.

Regardless of the year it should be a good truck. I have owned both a 7. 3 and 6. 0 and I preferred the 6. 0... ... ... . of course I got a good one and never had any problems with the 6 liter so that may have skewed my opinion.

I am sorry for your loss.

Sorry about your dad and sorry to see you leave us. Grants Pass is a great place. I have a brother who has lived there for some 30 years. I've been there to visit him many times.
