This past week I have noticed a problem getting the truck to start when warm. It starts fine when cold, but after it is warmed up, it has to crank a while before it turns over.

It has been pretty hot here lately, so that may have something to do with it?

I have seen other posts pointing at the VP44 as the cause of this problem... is there a way I can test this myself? Any other ideas of things to check?

I have yet to try it without the EZ connected.

Try cooling the vp44 then try starting,How you liking that Airstream by now?Got a couple of trips on mine and lovin it.

Check TSB 18-015-00 Rev A.

The dealer installed this software in my truck a couple of years ago and it cured the hard starting when hot problem.

My 2001. 5 does this some times as well. I heard its due to overly high fuel pressure. Apparently leaving the key in the on position for a few seconds lets the pressure drop, then it starts fine. Worth trying, it seems to work on mine. I used to just crank as soon as the wait to start light went out (almost immediately, when warm) and now I just give it an extra couple of seconds.
