Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Have A Few Question's

I Have A 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 Quad Cab Diesel And I Only Have 75,000 Mile On It Im Still Pretty New To The Whole Diesel Engine ! Ihave Had My Truck For The Past 10 Months And I Love It But I Was Just Wonderign How Do I Tell If It Is A 2001 Or A 2001. 5? And Also I Ahve Done A Few Mods To It Such As Straight Piped It And I Have Added A Hypertech Tuner And I Was Wondering If Anyone Knows If It Is Stackable With Another Tuner And If So Any Suggestions Im Looking For Something Between 500-600$ And If Mine Aint Stackable I Can Sell It To Get A Better One. Also I Was Wondering If I Should Just Go With A K&n Or Maybe The Amsoil Filter For Better Air Flow And Witch One Is Better Out Of The Two? I Have Many ?'s But Ill Just Ask These Two For Now Thanks ?????? And I Love This Site I Was Reffered By Another Tdr Member Here In Tucson Arizona Thanks Roger

I just visited a friend last night who had a 98. 5 ctd automatic & he had the hypertech tuner on his, but wanted more. I sold him a edge comp & asked him if he wanted to try my Smarty programmer out. He downloaded smarty & fell in love with it... ... he said that the hypertech didn't even compare at all. Smarty made his transmission shift better & the truck just drove better. He is gonna be buying a smarty soon. I told him no refunds on the comp! I knew if he tried smarty that he would want it now. LOL

I have the Smarty with a TST Comp stacked with a Edge Comp. I Use TST for Fuel and Boost and Edge Comp for timing where Needed

I had a hypertech programmer at FIRST also, sold it and got a lot SMARTER with the flexibility of a smarty. Give Bob Wagner a call he has some ones that you can demo first but only do it if you really want it because when you do you won't want to give it back! Also check out www.madselectronics.com

As the air filters go, there are alot of threads on here discussing k&N I suggest you read before you purchase one. My rig is all amsoil with the exception of the air filter.
