Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) hello

i have a 94 dodge with a 12 valve i have 4" exhaust k&n air filter 70 horse injectors air dog fuel pump i would like to know the fuel pressure i need to have so my truck will run deceant it will die if i give it throttle and let off when i am in gear plus on start up it sounds like i am runnig a gas engine with a big cam also wondering wht would be a good fuel plate to run i still need to add my afc spring and 3k or 4k governer spring and throttlee cable also it does not rev up past 2000 rpms i am completlely lost on wht is going on any little help would be great

Full throttle high gear 18 psi min. No load 2400 rpm's 24 to 28 psi. It sounds like you have low fuel pressure or air is getting into the fuel system.

At idle 20 psi minimum, 25 psi or a little higher is good. As you rev it (2000rpm) you should see at least 30 psi. ( Stock lift pump your air dog could be putting out more. )

If fuel pressure is off squeeze the rubber return line with pliers if pressure goes up the problem is the overflow valve (stuck open). If pressure does not go up or goes up slowly it is you fuel pump (lift pump). (If pressure is sky high the overflow valve could be stuck closed. )

What airdog do you have? If it wasn't originally sold in a 12-valve kit, you have to replace the pressure spring in the return line. 24 valve trucks run a 15 pound return spring, so any pressure generated by the airdog above 15psi gets dumped back into the fuel tank. They have a 30 psi spring for the 12-valve trucks, and it's easy to replace and relatively cheap.

The K&N air filter may be the reason you have an acceleration problem. Dodge nor Cummins recommend that filter because they don't do as good as a OEM filter.

An occasional period would make this much easier to read. I would start with the return fuel line and overflow valve, as they are common and cheap to fix. Good luck

Is this only for drop in replacements or any K&N? (aka BHAF cone style?)
