I am doing brakes and cannot get the rear rotors off... have all the brackets and hardware off, but the rotor is stuck on. Should the rotor slip off and the studs remain?

Please do not tell me I have to pull the axles ala GM drums.

Is it just stuck and I need to "persuade" it?

Thanks.

I pulled mine off without removing the shafts, make sure your parking brake is off, spray some lube around the hub, make sure the factory retainers are not on the studs, and then get a bigger hammer!

ya, the rotor fits over the hub, might be different on duallys. I did have to persuade mine ALOT though, an 8lbs sledge worked great

Thanks for the input.

I got them off with some liquid wrench and a little more persuasion than I would have liked to apply from behind while a friend spun them around. Used a 8lb+ sledge as well.

While you have them off I suggest adjusting your parking brake, since its not easy to do with the rotor on. I got mine as snug as I could while the rotor still slides over and it works great
